Candid Hong Kong – invasion of the pandas

Every fortnight I share a photo that shows a little insight into Hong Kong life. Sometimes they are things that made me smile, classic Hong Kong sights or just really unusual things.

In 2014, an exhibition called ‘1600 Pandas’ toured Hong Kong, finishing at the newly re-developed PMQ (Police Married Quarters) in Central. We went along to take a look and enjoyed looking at the papier mâché pandas which were all different. Some of them were very cute, especially the high-fiving ones at the bottom of this photo. It’s a bit sobering to think that this number is all that is left of pandas living in the wild. Still, it was a fun afternoon out and an unusual sight in Hong Kong!
