Candid Hong Kong – hanging laundry in public

Every fortnight week I share a photo that shows a little insight into Hong Kong life. Sometimes they are things that made me smile, classic Hong Kong sights or just really unusual things.

Recently I posted about how people here hang their laundry outside their apartment windows, no matter how high up they are. But this isn’t the only method people use to hang their laundry! Obviously, it is difficult to hang sheets and blankets up outside the window, so instead some of the locals use whatever else they can find, such as railings on the street. These two sets of railings are very near me and are always covered in laundry on a sunny day, even despite notices on the railings saying not to do so! You would expect that they would just get dirty again from the railings, surely?
